Phases of Dark Night of the Soul: Spiritual Transformation Through Depression

Phases of Dark Night of the Soul: Spiritual Transformation Through DepressionDuring our journey in this lifetime, many of us experience moments of feeling depressed. There may be some bad news or a feeling of failure or rejection that may trigger this sensation, but we just write it off as a normal feeling, therefore a normal part of life.

Well, what happens when the depression sticks around for long time? Or we come out of our depression only to go right back into it time and time again? What if we never really get out of it and feel like we’ve wound up as a functioning zombie?

If you are experiencing this feeling, understand that you are not alone. When in the midst of the dark curtain being pulled over us, it is easy to feel as if we are an island; isolated, alone in our emotions, and no clear way to get back to the “normalcy” of main land.

In shamanism and spiritual healing, depression is often a dark visitor that comes to show us something about ourselves. It almost always has a message that we are otherwise unable to receive until we fall deep down to the bottom of the pit of despair.

What message could possibly exist in this dreary and seemingly endless darkness?

You are standing on the threshold of a spiritual transformation!

There is so much truth that you are uncovering, and have yet to uncover, that it can be shocking to the systems. All of our ideals and baseline programs begin to get uprooted and rearranged when we are making a drastic transition in our lives and in our spiritual journeys.

In this week’s video, I share my own experience of going through the Dark Night of the Soul and explain what the phases are so you can understand where you might be in the process. I also share some tips on how to pull yourself through and ultimately out of the depression as a means of spiritual transformation.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to book an Intuitive Healing session.

My depression has a longer timeline than yours did, but your descriptions of that bottom place where I live, and how you surrender and ask for help from God (in my case, non religious) – is a direct hit and made me feel understood and supported.

If you enter the Dark night there are 2 very important Spiritual occurences can you describe these? You give them no mention in your video. If you can’t then it wasn’t the Dark Night

Hi Sean! Not sure what response you’re hunting for here, but I can tell you that the Dark Night presents differently for different people. It all depends on your unique journey. I encourage you to not get hung up on the verbiage or parameters that might work for you, as it doesn’t apply to everyone else. Wishing you all the best on your journey!
